Each of these pieces is its own little milestone in my writing journey, from articles for the student-run newspaper, to adoptee stories and features, to my first informal publishing stint writing a blog, to the final academic paper of college (I never said they were equally riveting).
And, because writing is rarely (if ever) just putting words on a page, each piece reflects a time in my life when I was growing and discovering issues to care about, whether that was sharing adoptee experiences, critiquing religious nationalism, or taking a moment to consider beauty.
ARTICLE
This is the most personally meaningful article I've written, as a transracial adoptee myself. Writing this story was eye-opening, and sparked my passion and interest in adoptee experiences.

ARTICLE
This is one of my earliest articles and was also the first time I interviewed fellow students. This piece was a finalist in the Society of Professional Journalists' Region 4 Mark of Excellence award.

ADOPTEE COMMUNITY
This is a treasured collection of collaborations with the Girls Adoption Connect community and journalist Lilou Margueron. I am honored to have been able to be a part of these projects; here's to continuing to share our stories.

CAPSTONE
Few things are more upsetting and unsettling than religion being weaponized for political power. This is my senior capstone (attached as a pdf due to its length).

STUDENT BLOG
I include this as an important milestone in my writing journey, even though it's not formal or academic writing. Nonetheless, writing for this blog sparked my interest in many topics I'm still passionate about today: faith and justice, women's empowerment, and exaggerated intolerance.

ARTICLE
This was one of the most refreshing pieces I've written, where I got to have conversations about art, beauty, and faith.
