ADOPTEE COMMUNITY

Featured Involvement

This page is not so much about me, but is more a testament to the amazing adoptee community I am proud to be a part of.

Thanks to Girls Adoption Connect (huge shouts for founder Téa Tamburo, I was able to share my adoption story on their page and connect with fellow adoptees around the globe. Later, I got the opportunity to be part of  Lilou Margueron's work for her article about Chinese adoptees navigating their identities.

I could not be more honored to be part of these conversations, or more proud of my fellow adoptees for sharing our stories.

MEDIUM ARTICLE

Navigating Identity and Belonging as Chinese Adoptees in the West

I am so honored to have played a part in Lilou Margueron's work. Lilou published her article in Medium on May 13, 2024. She did an excellent job, weaving personal stories (like mine), cultural context, historical context, and psychology together.

GIRLS ADOPTION CONNECT

Girls Adoption Connect (GAC) is an online community that connects adoptees by providing a platform for sharing our stories and thoughts about adoption. I shared my story with them, and it was published on their website and Instagram account on June 21, 2023.

After GAC published/posted my story, I was able to connect with many adoptees thanks to their network!

GIRLS ADOPTION CONNECT

After sharing my adoption story on GAC, I got the opportunity to speak about adoptee experiences on a panel of adoptees. In this episode hosted by Téa Tamburo,  we reflected on how the COVID-19 pandemic and the Stop Asian Hate movement impacted our own journeys of processing adoption.
